Scott's Vision: A County for All

Engagement

Government belongs to all of us. I've been active in many activities in our community in various ways, including as a board or committee member for various organizations in environmental, economic, and civic engagement spaces.

Transparency

You deserve to know what your government is doing. As Clerk, I would be the "keeper" of Kent County's records. Promoting transparency is critical to rebuilding trust between Kent County government and the people it serves.

Voter education

Our system depends on voters having all the information they need. As Clerk, I'll work to make sure every voter knows all they need to know about voting - from their rights as voters to the various offices they'll find on their ballot.

Supporting Local Clerks and Election Workers

As a poll worker in Grand Rapids and Kentwood, I've seen firsthand the care and effort that goes into making sure our elections are secure and fair. I'm is committed to supporting Kent County's election workers in every way I can.

Innovation

From my work in the digital and communications fields, I know how important it is to be on the cutting edge - especially in a large, growing, and diverse county like Kent County. I'll actively seek out ways to improve the customer service experience for all who engage with the offices of Clerk and Register of Deeds - including newlyweds, new homeowners, and parents of newborns.
